Purpose
The degree of an IKEA store’s operational success largely depends on the speed, accuracy and service provided at the check-out area. A lasting positive impression is made by well-managed checkouts manned with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful cashiers who work together with customers.
Mandate
The Cashier has the responsibility to actively create a last positive impression for visitors and customers so as to create the conditions for a successful shopping experience through securing the highest possible level of customer service in checkout area.
The Cashier reports to Cashier Team Leader.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Secure last positive impression for the customers
- Be aware and emphasis that the Check Out area is the last stop for the majority of the visitors & customer
- To secure a good waiting time and follow up system in the checkouts area to support an efficient service to visitors/customers
- Offer accurate information to customers regarding IKEA family, aftersales services, etc.
Daily operation
- Ensure all the purchases are registered effectively and provide different payment methods to customers at their convenience
- Ensure an accurate cash flow by extremely following up systems, methods and guidelines stated in IKEA Manuals and Rules & Guidelines
- Have a strong sense of Safety & Security and take responsibility to prevent any thieveries through checkout area
- Keep a high SISAN level at the working area
Knowledge
- Have experience of retail cashier or have Cashier Certificate is a prefer
