adidas is a great brand to work for. The company is constantly pushing their employees to grow and develop within the business across a wide variety of roles and departments. Career progression is one of the key drivers within adidas. There is a great buzz within the brand and a great passion for what they do. Everyone is committed to achieving the same goals and this helps drive the business and win the consumer. The company offers great benefits and rewards, including staff discount and activations.
Very prone to high theft and other security issue I.e customers wanting to fight staff... Adidas will not provide proper security measurements because it "costs too much". Team leads get one write up which is your final then fired on spot no two week notice. Major communication issues.. Basically store needs to be closed and reopened with a completely new staff including management
Pay, hours, safety, management
In 2008, Adidas America chose to open a new flagship in downtown Chicago, IL. While the marketing campaigns were extensive in advance of the arrival, very poor judgment was made in the placement of this new "flagship". As it was hidden in the corner of a middle floor of a mall, traffic counts, and therefore, sales, were inevitably much lower than anticipated. As a result, anticipated results were significantly lower than expected, and inventory was higher than what the facility was able to handle based on the limited space available. While I was successful in my position to manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, I watched as the majority of my peers in management did not survive the first few months of this new, highly touted facility.
Inefficiency of business, poor leadership skills
Typically, I would walk the floor and plan for the next week's merchandising of the floor. Studied the new season's product and comp shopped. Management was positive and fostered growth. Still friends with my manager today! My co-workers were also awesome! We all still keep up with each other. Hardest part of the job was having to leave because my pay was too low. Most enjoyable was creating & executing the floor plans I dreamed up, training team members, learning from team members, sharing a love for the brand with our customers, and building life-long friendships!!!
