been with the company almost 2 years and they lack of management, I gotten promotions but they always keep the top positions for their friends and they don't do it base on performance.

Great First Start

I started my hospitality with Aimbridge and mostly it has been a good experience. I loved working with my colleagues and the managers I met during my time there. Management were encouraging and easy to get a long with. The only thing for me was the pay and pay raises were rare. I went one year without any pay raise. The other disadvantage is there was hardly any growth opportunity to other positions within the company. Apart from that, it is still a good company to work for. You can apply within for other positions / better pay.

Hospitality

A day at work in the hospitality business in the kitchen is very basic. Make sure you take care of your guests and treat them well by maintaining the kitchen and keeping it clean and cooking your food right and taking your temps and keeping records it is very easy and it was very much underneath me, but I did it for a while, and it did not teach me anything because I know more than the job required. Now your management it depends who is managing where I was that we had a good manager very good. She knows what she is doing but there is some things that was said and done that should’ve not been but people have to learn and that’s how we learn. Overall, it’s a good place to work at. But for myself I had to move on.

easy and stable job for someone who can handle stress

The hardest part was definitely trying to get help from upper management. Most stations are self sufficient and need little assistance from management but when you do it is nearly impossible to get help. It is a fun group and overall and easy job but it can be stressful as it is very busy and you are constantly running every direction. It is easy to get time off when needed and most coworkers are willing to help each other out. Overall, I really enjoyed my time.

Ridiculous Pay, Nice People

Being solely responsible for feeding up to 100 people including set-up, food prep, and sweeping/mopping only to gross less than $80 made me feel like a sucker. The work easily justifies two people per shift, but they scrape by with one, so there was little opportunity for added hours. Three days a week barely paid for groceries.

Management horrible

Just a bunch a mean girls. They don’t listen to your needs and they force you to just deal with whatever comes your way alone. You do not have a voice. As long as you’re not asking for help and don’t need things in the kitchen and when they ask you what’s wrong it’s to use it against you

All about money

Owners are very remote from the business, just want money, couldn't care about staff or properties, Aimbridge are the middle men, paid to deliver results, so everyone gets screwed to the wall basically

They will run the place with 2 managers-will drain if your salaried

some GMs are great but some are the worst. Don't join this company if you're looking to be in management. they will drain you and will not compensate you. they don't will not pay your sick days or paid days after or during your week's notice. for line staff, they make it mandatory to do a double or long shift even if they don't want it. The manager will do front desk housekeeping bistro payroll schedule inspections everything all duties. i came in for work in the morning and left after 2 hours as the night shift called out. GM WILL FORCE YOU TO CHANGE YOUR PLANS WITH FAMILY AND WILL THROW YOU UNDER THE RUG TO WIPE DIRTY.

Good place to work but!

I have been with the company for almost 3 months and I really love working here. My only problem is that management doesn’t care about the state of the building and are more concerned about making money than address issues that have been brought up by guest.

Endless Opportunity for growth

If you are looking for a company to grow with and you haven’t finished school or have a random degree you aren’t making use of and are looking for a career change and you’re willing to do your job there’s room for advancement… if your a hard worker the opportunities come quickly and often. Not even 4 years in and I’ve advanced 4 times. I started at a payrate that was far lower than I was accustomed to but between incentives and promotions I am not in it for the pay I am in it because I love what I do and I want the experience…. Pay could be better but in this industry if you want a very significant pay increase your best bet usually is to just change hotels I’ve had offers but I’ve chosen to stay at the same hotel fully aware I could make more still even within aimbridge if I was willing to switch hotels. Fast opportunities for those who work hard.

Overall Good Company

Overall good company to work for but lots of virtual team-meetings and mundane paperwork. Some above property leaders can treat property leaders unfairly and provide poor leadership.

Not a place you want to be!

If you’re looking for growth this isn’t the place. LOTS of one sided managers, again, zero room for growth. Everyone’s hungry for someone’s position so they spread lies and gossip, even the GM and AGM. Sales manager isn’t friendly at all. They focus WAY too much on “reviews” from guests, that you can’t control & if your department lacks in positive feedback, you lose your job. They micromanage, watch cameras when you come in for your shift and leave. Definitely keep searching for somewhere else to go. This location and their sister property… cutthroat! I was lied on and judged from day one. Not a place you want to be!

Be prepared to be alone nonstop.

I’ve never worked somewhere where I would have to be entirely on my own without a supervisor/manager. This wouldn’t be a bad thing if the training was actually done well and I felt fully prepared for what’s to come in the role. No one ever prepared me for a lot of situations and simply told me to “look in the front desk binder” for cheat sheets. If you want to be the only person on duty and responsible for quite literally everything around you, this is the job for you. Fair warning, you play the job of manager when there isn’t one onsite, and if you work PM/Night Audit, there never is. But you know, you only get paid the front desk wage instead. Save your sanity.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Toxic from above and lack of support. But they offer good benefits that you have to pay for. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Waiting to be let go. They like to make cuts without telling you until you are being walked out. Even if you are doing a good job and the hotel is running smooth. If you are making more than what they like by way of earning promotions, they will cut you.
