在AWS做过，跟一个很作老女人上级。她也是裙带关系和之前马来西亚老板过来了的。满口专业其实专业很差，气量小。AWS历史比较短，管理不能和其他老牌外企相比。各个部门风格专业度完全看负责人水平。

Overall good

work type changed it to fully remote from hybrid is a plus, they offer ppl actual opportunities to fully remote work from home if they wanted to, you also get to choose to work on site

Company with strong culture

It is a company with strong culture and if you fit into it, you will believe the every day work here is worthwhile. A good company culture helps people united and that's the key to Amazon's success. However, sometimes working here is also very tired and many redundant to work to do.

Good pay. Poor in PIP, WLB and promotion

As topic, Amazon paid me decently. I got 10% more comparing with the other opprotunities in small companies who have not been listed.However, the PIP rate for SDE2 was pertty high for the team and org I served for. That led to fears among all teamates and everyone needed to over-work to make him/herself save.Plus, it was super hard to move to senior engineer.

flexible work pace and firendly company culture

Amazon will lead you to learn a lot as every intern and also treat you fairly like any other employee. The interview will be a little tough, should deeply and clearly know your background during school and show your logic and strength.

Not a good place to work. Stay away.

I worked at China. And I have heared a lot of bad comments about Amazon in USA too. The experience let me know Amazon is not a good place to work.TAnd if they give you a shift is 6am-3pm, they even can put your rest time to 2pm-3pm, which means you can not leave your company even if you don't have jobs later. And your rest time will different from others, so there is hardly to eat with someone or play with someone. Because your vacation is at different days! hey do costume at the company,but not everyone join in. You still have to do your job and other manager just took pictures so they can sent it to the company to show they have a good work atmosphere.

Amazing place for starting a internship

I was not expecting the device team that I got to work with to be so supportive of a college intern like me. If you are willing to reach out, there are always people willing to answer your questions and give you valuable guidance. Also every week we are given informative trainings on a specific subject matter, it has been very helpful for us to get to know this industry and everything related to it better.

A Great Company

overall, it is a great company with the most creative team mate and unique culture -- 14 leadership principle and two-way door way of thinking etc. "work hard, have fun and make history!". At the same time, not all the senior leadership thinks the same, espcially in unique china case.

Decent but not enough

They offer 3 days a week which isn’t enough. It’s really easy to hurt yourself here. Plus it’s hot as ever no air conditioning barely fans. They do not offer Human Resources over night and the HR rep they do have is not reliable.

Productive and fun place for the young

I like Amazon's culture,and it gave me more open space ,and I can make more excellent friends there. I learnt how to edit technique blogs and how to operate websites for amazon. My colleagues are all very friendly and nice to me. I do love the atmosphere there. But i am only an intern there ,I wanna try more interesting jobs.

It depends on your manager

If you are lucky and get a good manager, you can be very satisfied with the job. However, if you are unlucky, your boss also can be very mean to you. Very unfortunately I had a bad boss who got tons of bad feedback from all the team. 5 of her staffs quit because they couldn't stand her. Even so she is still working for Amazon for the 6th year. No one is going to deal with a mean-boss-situation. You may have to work overtime or on call during nights and weekends, depends on your team. If an urgent request comes out of your office hour, it would be hard to say no to the request. And you may get a lot of these requests. The career development really depends on your role. Amazon change their business and focus quickly. If your role happens to be important to the road map of your team, you will have a lot of opportunities to promote yourself. Otherwise it would be difficult to get a raise.
