Manager and co-workers made part-time retail doable

While my job was largely in the back, anytime I was on the floor, I felt supported by my team. Retail is always a toss up, though. District manager sneaking around to "uphold brand standards" made work near impossible because higher ups don't think about actual store flow for smaller stores. Just make it look standard. Pay is garbage cause they mostly hire teens and don't want to pay them much. Don't have a medical emergency, either. Might get fired. All that said, best retail job I've had so far.

Wouldn't do it again but it was a good place to learn and grow

I started as a Brand Ambassador (sales associate) and was fairly quickly promoted to Sales Lead because I had a bit of experience, I was in my mid 20s and I wasn't an idiot. It was a fun new role but I had kind of tapped out my opportunities for advancement within the first few months. The store managers I had met had been at the company for ~10 years at that point. It's a huge company but takes a long time to get to a reasonable salary or advance to any meaningful positions. That's a long time of dealing with teenage girl drama. Best of luck.

Good starter job.

Speaking for my location specifically, it started out good. However management wasn't very accommodating with availability changes. Management was quite petty, meaning, if you did one thing wrong, don't expect hours the following weeks. For a 4hr shift you get a 10 minute break. They aren't required, so unless you speak up you might not get one. There was always drama amongst the employees. Also expect to work every weekend unless you try to request off. The company itself was great. I loved the clothes and discount.

fun place to work, management was very supportive and down to earth

Work was easy, even easy dealing with difficult customers. Management was awesome to work with. The atmosphere and people were friendly and welcoming. A good part time job to have indeed.

Πολύ δύσκολη δουλεία. Οι manager αγενέστατοι με ελάχιστες εξαιρέσεις. Σε αναγκάζουν να κυνηγάς τον κάθε πελάτη που μπαίνει ακόμα και αν ο πελάτης δεν θέλει βοήθεια. Αν δεν αγοράσει κάτι κάποιος πελάτης και φύγει με άδεια χέρια σε κράζουν με πολύ άσχημο τρόπο και με ψυχολογικό πόλεμο. Όταν οι manager έχουν νεύρα φοβάσαι να τους μιλήσεις. Το μόνο θετικό είναι το καλό κλίμα ανάμεσα στους πωλητές/συναδέλφους.

Fun Place

Fun place to work with flexible hours. Great discount and good merchandise. I worked for great management. Very supportive with ample training. Room to grow.

Bad company

At first the place was great, but then it got really bad. We got raised to minimum wage and are now expected to do more work than we did before. We also do not get more than 20 hours in the 2 weeks before our paycheck, as well as no shift is longer than 4 hours.

Good first job

Very good job to gain customer service experience. Always a great team and a good company to work for. Very flexible with scheduling and they care about your life outside of work. Only flaw is they don’t really put you on the schedual if you don’t get credit cards and managers have favorites and it’s very noticeable

Fun job bad people

The management is trash, no ability for a raise, sales leads will talk bad about you and make you feel like trash, the pay is not good. The discounts are good, the job itself is nice, doesn’t take a lot of effort

Pay

It’s a fun first job and It makes a good high school job. if you’re having to pay for stuff you’re self i do not recommend. the pay is horrible for the amount of work is expected of you. Being promoted is little to none unless the store is understaffed in mangers / leads. the “raise” that you receive can be as little as 5 cents. it’s not worth it if you’re trying to find a job to help pay ANY bills

At first, it was good-- its a fun job and the discounts are great. But one of the sales leads wouldn't shut up and kept trash talking all of the brand ambassadors below her. Store manager is nice but petty and doesn't really care

You probably worked here and now don’t lmao

After being let go/leaving, I came here to see what other thought of this job- and it’s literally all the same: it’s 💩. Mangers don’t care and suck, favoritism off the charts, minimum pay, weird work environment, PIC’s are snobbish, and didn’t get worked for a month and a half. If you’re like a high school student and don’t care, yeah go for it but as a college student (mind you I worked only around college students here) it’s not for you babes. They eventually only keep ppl that’s worked there for a year.

Not the best

Not everyone held to the same standards. Some people can call out every week, be late everyday nothing is done. Supervisors just given the position to have it filled and dont know any of what is going on. No communication. Incentives? Unrealistic goals and if by chance you make it, heres 20 bucks. No bonuses, pay raises. I can say alot more.

Worked at AE for 1 year and was happy with the experience and the people I ended up working with. Everyone was super helpful and encouraging. Great discount as well.
