Good first-experience with customer and sales interaction

I was able to improve communication skills working the costumers throughout my time working at Banana Republic. I was also taught to understand whats current with out clothing line and how to operate different positions whether it be sales associates or working behind the register.

缺点

Management was a bit inflexible to work schedules and did not discuss pay prior to hire.

Fun workplace

I personally loved working at banana Republic because I love selling and my advice would be, if you don't like selling or the confidence to push for a sell, not taking no for an answer and always finding alternatives, this is going to be a tough job for you since folding clothes is the least of the team's worries. They give good hours and the team is very positive and supportive!

Fun draining workplace

the most enjoyable part is with coworkers. I learned alot.Management was okay. Very Flexible working environment but no work-life balance.-all black casual fit.- hardest part was the holidays

Fun workplace, very demanding goals

Enjoyed my time spent working with coworkers and managers there as I felt I part of a team, but they can sometimes be strict with some of their policies and meeting certain quotas.

A Good Typical Retail Job

Tasks were pretty basic for my role:- Welcome customers in - Handle transactions - Help customers with finding the right clothes - Push any current promotions - organize the store by folding and arranging the layout of the clothes, both in front and back of houseThat was the typical work day. Of course, it felt boring when it was slow and there was no one to help or nothing to do except fold clothes. Management and co-workers were all very lovely people to work with at my location!

Love my coworkers

I like working here. Just wish the dress code wasn't so strict. Made alot of friends so can't complain too much. Never will be hired as full time though so don't expect benefits.

Great place to work.

The manager and the other staff are very nice. I really enjoyed my job there. I felt at home and I just really enjoyed shopping there too.Great employee discounts and flexible hours.

Straightforward

Product knowledge training was done every month where you go over the upcoming styles, fits, fabrics & try them on. Good discount. Workplace culture was cliquey, but everyone was friendly for the most part. I usually worked closing so the shift would be focused on cleaning up the store & trying to sell as much as you can with those late night shoppers. Holidays were always busy but they would provide food.

Good seasonal job

It was a great seasonal job if you love their clothes because you get a great discount. The hours were pretty bad but that is expected with holiday seasonal job positions. The pay was minimum but most of the work was not that hard. You are on your feet the whole time though.

Tired

they expected you to worked without loggin in. had to sell company cards and was told if we didnt meet the deadline we would lose hours! very stand offish and would throw you on register and blame you for any mistake you make

Never Again

It was okay at first, but the hanover location cannot keep a general manager, and the last one they hired was extremely mean. While it's typically chill and easy going it is super hectic during the holidays.

Boring

Its a regular boring job the management was good had a really good general manager but no one likes it there everyone is sad and miserable and you can tell its a struggle to get decent wage there for all associates working harder then they pay

All jobs have good and bad days, the work is good.

Management isn’t the best at the moment but with good coworkers it’s very fun. The work is easy to figure out and get a hang of. We do stay until 10pm sometimes more but it isn’t too bad, goes by quick.

What is the best part of working at the company?They are flexible when it comes to schedule needs. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Low pay and only offer part-time so no benefits unless you are in management.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?A bit juvenile and “ click like”. The management are personal friends and make no effort to hide it. There is no reason to talk about their personal friendships in front of other employees. I don’t recommend working for them if you are over 50. I find a lot of things that are unfair due to my age. Seems as though there are a different set of rules for me. I work just as hard and am the top performer and yet treated often with disrespect. I will say my prior management team was very different so it could just be this particular group of managers to be fair to the company.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Selling of course . Pressure to get get customers to sign up for their loyalty and credit card programs. Folding folding folding and straightening of the floor.

Indifferent to the company. Just worked here part-time while in school. Some of the assistant managers were supportive while others were quite toxic to work with.

Good entry job for retail

Overall good, fun entry level job. Flexible hours. Seasoned employees know retail well. Mostly friendly environment. Management needs improvement. Would improve morale.

Fun for a part time job

The managers I've worked with are nice and have always been pretty flexible as far as scheduling goes. Of course you have to work majority weekends and holiday seasons are blacked out. For the most part customers are nice but you get a few of those customers that are jerks. All in all a good culture as far as retail goes.

The people I worked with were great and we worked as a team to surpass the goals for each week. I’ve worked in different locations and got the same experience.

Flexible Times But Stressful

I was lucky to have a pretty flexible schedule but management was inconsistent and card goals were beyond stressful. Never felt appreciated, or respected as an employee.

Nice people but they offer few hours and no commission

Nice coworkers & 15 min breaks are given but they offer few hours and no commission despite being told to actively sell items to customers. It gets to the point where you are basically told to keep talking to customers even if they have repeatedly said they do not need help when browsing items.

Nice place to work… for the most part

I enjoyed working for Banana. There was a good work environment and structure. My only complaint is that sales associates (stylists) made no commission. Since your entire job is working with customers to help them find clothing to wear, even a small commission would have been incentive to sell more. I feel that is a big opportunity wasted. Incentivize your employees and they’ll sell more, which leads to more customers and higher income.
