Good workplace

Manager, partners, and staff at my BDO office made it a great place to work. Were very friendly, willing to help, and did not judge you when you asked questions. Only downside to the job is working busy season and lower pay. However, they do give their employees a ton of vacation time in the summer to make-up for working busy season. Typical day as accountant includes working on file preparation, responding to client emails, and asking questions to managers / partners. Audit preparation has gotten more difficult at BDO with the new standards and very time-consuming.

Good experience, busy busy hours

It’s a good learning experience and most people are nice and friendly, but the hours expected are heavy and compensation is not in line to reflect those hours. Benefits are good, but PTO and 401K match could be better.

Lovely exposure but the people aren't that great

I love working at BDO, however the people have made it unbearable. Favoritism- some trainees are never idle and get planned on the best clients however this isn't the case for some

Busy but able to gain support from other collegues and manager. Need to balance between work and study.The workload is depend on what project you are working onMany training opportunities

fun place to work

Culture is great. The green team is great to work for and the partners really get to know there staff and help then grow as a team. The managers are always willing to help explain concepts.

Collaborative environment

It was a mixed bag where the partners were very supportive and available to provide timely input during the projects, of course there is always the odd exceptions.

Too much ego from some of the leaders, its either their way or highway. The team and colleagues are cool people to work with and are very helping.

Not a great place to work. Poor culture and a lot of gossip and favouritism and there always people leaving. Work is varied though and some talented individuals to learn from. .

Poor organisation

I was unfortunately fooled by the corporate jargon regarding company culture. Spend too much time disparaging the big 4 when their culture is no better, and for lower salary.

Not a bad place to work, people slightly lazy but overall not bad. If you're looking for a place to just do minimal work, that's the place to be I guess.
