Upper management makes work toxic

Indeed 所选最有帮助的评论Overall a decent job at a nice location. However, the lead manager made the experience uncomfortable. She plays favorites among different admins and she gaslights certain team members when they are not able to understand her directions. Besides the micromanagement I enjoyed the company’s diversity on a whole.

Easy to hit salary ceilings - Great people - Poor pay

Just over 3 years working with BDO.Started in Admin, finished in a higher admin position but ultimately hit a ceiling with no opportunities for growth. Managment could not, or would not assist in anyway. I was promised salary negotiations in good faith - And was told that meant nothing and had no capacity for negotiations.

Growth opportunities are mostly for professionals only, not administrative staff. Great benefits, good starting pay, relaxed environment. Encouraging and down to earth partners. Managers have ego issues and exhibit unethical behaviors.

Free weekly lunch but very wasteful
缺点
Allows slander, microaggressions and other unethical behavior go unnoticed to protect "higher ups".

BDO is a very great firm . Team members are helpful . People leader asks first about your goal and later they do not help to achieve that and after that they terminate you if they do not have enough clients and work. otherwise Bdo as a firm is very enjoyable place .

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing good particularly stands out about this company. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The managers play favoritism and there is minimal to zero training with very high and demanding expectations. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Stressful and they only like you if you are a people pleaser, otherwise help is not given to you. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Heavy workload and understaffed.

Bad management - yet they still get promoted

Lots of brown noses. Many employees leaving due to lack of support.HR is nowhere to be found.Vacation time requests often refused.The training is overwhelming and not great at all.You are pretty much on your own as far as learning goes.Communication is worse I've ever experienced.War between two Montreal offices.Do not work at BDO, no matter what they tell you in the interview. You will be deceived.

Good first job, but not worth it in the long run

the pay isn't worth it for the amount of work you do and for all the stress it carries. good first job but wouldn't want to spend more than 2+ years there when you can get paid more and have a better work life balance.

Fun conworkers, laid back atmosphere

BDO has a very inclusive workforce, and while the workload can be hectic at deadlines they strive to provide fun breaks and group activities, along with mentors and additional training, to keep their workforce current and engaged.

The worst place to work, run don't walk

This was by far the worst work environment I have ever been in. The older CPA are great, caring individuals. They were helpful and always asked how it was going. The younger crew, oh boy, talk about a bunch of ignorant, conceded, rude people. The administrative team was great but afraid of the leaded. The worst experience of my life. The pay sucked, but they had a really cool coffee maker. If that's enough for you.

BDO is a good, supportive place to work

I worked in the Salmon Arm office of BDO. The work is fast paced during the busy season, at tax time. The people are supportive and helpful to work with. The partners have a good work-life balance. Being an efficient worker will help you succeed in this company. I enjoyed my time with BDO.

Decent Place to Work but Inadequate Management

Pros:
-Clean office environment
-Up-to-date equipment
-Pretty friendly people
-Partners nice to work for
Cons:
-Company is super cheap
-Not paid enough and no bonuses - they will try to pile as much work on you as possible and not compensate for it
-Management is horrible - office manager is hardly ever accountable for her whereabouts when her team is looking for her, very flighty and unorganized, and moody
-Extra comp days and bonuses taken off the table recently - staff were not happy - company trying to save a buck at the cost of its best employees

This is a great place to learn as much as you can as Admin Assistant in a public accounting firm but not a place to stay. Too much work, not enough support, little to no appreciation of the part that Admin plays in to the overall success of the office. Depending on your location, you may get to deal with narcissistic, spoiled, entitled Partners and staff

Lot of knowledge about business - go use it at another firm who treats you like a human
缺点
High priced benefits, absolutely no work-life balance, most everyone that leaves comes out emotionally scarred
