.After retirement I just desired a workplace within my community. enjoyed this culture; however, i experience helicopter manager. I was professional.

decent easy job, as long as you're not front desk

Job seems enjoyable for the people who don't work for front desk. Front desk gets excluded from many employee get-togethers/parties. Even though the Front desk should have all the information for guests, large groups/events, etc., communication is HIGHLY lacking. You do not get help when you need it, even when it is offered. They will schedule one person for the morning and tell them to figure it out themselves, but the pm shift will have a whole crew. And the favoritism is insane.

great home life balance

one of the few hotels where you can leave for the day when you’re done with your work. of course you only get paid for the hours you stay, but there’s no “forcing” you to stay til the shift ends. do you work and leave. or do other work and help out to get ur hours.

Lots of support

Guests can be over the topComplaints can be ridiculous Guests Reviews can be offensive Management can seem unorganized Huge turn around with housekeeping Not enough communication But overall I absolutely loved working here especially with the right crew that encourages you to strive! And the pay was decent enough to move me into a new/bigger apartment.

bad management

was promised many things many of it being untrue on top of a hostile work environment. Rooms not clean and mold in it. hardly any customers because of that.

It was definitely an experience. Learned a lot about what not to do when it comes to running a hotel.

What is the best part of working at the company?My staff in the bar and the room service attendant. Hard working and flexible, also very knowledgeable. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Being left out of the loop when events are planned and then scrambling to staff it and ensuring that things run smoothly.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?It used to be fun when I was there. Hard to get a hold of management after they click out. Everybody cared about the numbers, but somehow forgot about the hospitality part.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Did almost everything except checking in people, turning over rooms and valet.

Productive and a fun place to work.

While working there in the beginning, I do learn a lot of new skills every single day. My colleagues are very helpful including my supervisor, other.

Will never seek employment again

Embassy Suites do not care about their employees. We were treated very unfairly and expected to clean 25+ rooms in just 8 hours and if you don’t get all your rooms done and have to stay late then you will get fired. Management was extremely unfriendly. There was no enjoyable part of this job aside from the food and you were made to eat in a nasty cafe. They hire immigrants so they can work them to death.

Overworked and underpaid.

What is the best part of working at the company?The best part is that knowing you won't have to pay full price in hotel rooms. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Pushing the carts on carpets, traveling between floors. The distance it take to get supplies from floor to floor. The basement is 10 mins away from the top floor. You have to find a different cart every time you return back to work. The closets were hardly ever supplied. No team work it's really all on you. They don't supply food for in their employees and the pay was embarrassing. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I couldn't tell. It's a struggle to get those rooms cleaned. Nothing else mattered. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Stressful. Hectic. Complicated. Tiring. Overwhelming. Overworked. Underpaid. Strained.

Very high turnover, micromanagement, musty dark offices

The most bizarre and negative environment ever. Do not let yourself get used, management does not care about you, only profit. Workplace culture, everyone is stressed out and overworked. It's so sad. Hardest part of the role is the micromanagement. Enjoyable about the job is my day off.

Great place to work butt can’t get a request days off to take vacation for a week for PTO

Hard to get a day off especially when you request it ahead of time even if you have PTO because they don’t have enough help only the sales department and managers get requested days off

Stressful, eye-opening, lucrative and sad work experience.

What is the best part of working at the company?The best part was that it was a busy hotel therefore I potentially can make a decent wage since my pay was mostly commission.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The company doesn’t follow any rules regarding seniority or wage increase. As a result only certain individuals are rewarded and or promoted. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?The culture comprised of friends and family of owners and those who were not, complained and were very unhappy. A very sad environment. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Arrive check the arrivals and capacity of busses leaving for tours that day. Wait for guests to check in for tours and sell bus tours for the remainder of my shift.

The worst job I’ve ever had in my life.

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing upper management had no clue what they were doing. The H.R. department were the worst I have ever seen throughout my career. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Your coworker and upper management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Backstabbing and childish very let’s say high school. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Come in and try to figure out what is going on and what needs to be done there was no communication between you and the other team members so you will spend a lot of time trying to find this out.

Unprofessional and bullying environments

They don’t take complaints seriously and want to run on the bare minimum. They basically tell you you are easily replaceable, and there is always drama with the staff.

Didn't thrive here

Not much room for advancement. Clicks run the kitchen. Chef doesn't motivate and encourage staff growth. Hotel has many opportunities to be great, inexperienced management is hindering it though.

Bonus structure was made for us to never obtain. 50 hour mandatory work weeks even when slow. PTO wasn’t that good. Work life balance didn’t exist, couldn’t work remote either.

Has good employees with work ethic and productive.

Every day is a welcoming environment and ppl role work with trust and respect. Supervisor will gladly help when employees and teach them how to work efficiently. Management needs slight improvements but will respect from others perspective. Everyone will help and work together with a great attitude. Not having enough staff to do the tasks on a busy day. The most enjoyable part if the job is the people.Employees are compassion, and caring for other colleagues.

Stay away from Embassy Suites LaVista!!!

Most of upper management is lazy, doesn't care about you, and whines about all the work they have to do! No plan from management to fix any issue. No ongoing training or lack of any training. You learn on your own from trial and error. TERRIBLE benefits and pay! STAY AWAY!!
