.After retirement I just desired a workplace within my community. enjoyed this culture; however, i experience helicopter manager. I was professional.

Decent

Overall pretty decent place to work at, it can get crazy but you get used to it. I do notice some managers play favorites but just as long as you do your work proficiently everyone will love you

decent easy job, as long as you're not front desk

Job seems enjoyable for the people who don't work for front desk. Front desk gets excluded from many employee get-togethers/parties. Even though the Front desk should have all the information for guests, large groups/events, etc., communication is HIGHLY lacking. You do not get help when you need it, even when it is offered. They will schedule one person for the morning and tell them to figure it out themselves, but the pm shift will have a whole crew. And the favoritism is insane.

Lots of support

Guests can be over the topComplaints can be ridiculous Guests Reviews can be offensive Management can seem unorganized Huge turn around with housekeeping Not enough communication But overall I absolutely loved working here especially with the right crew that encourages you to strive! And the pay was decent enough to move me into a new/bigger apartment.

Get swamped often; have to multitask a lot

We had trouble with staffing so a lot of times, there would be only one person at the front desk with long lines and telephones ringing and issues to solve. A lot of work would get thrown at very few people to handle it all.

Company cares very little for employees at the end of the day.

This company is the worst to work for. Do not ever have tragedies in your life, they simply do not care. There is no empathy, understanding or sympathy toward employees at the end of the day. The pay is substandard for what they make you do on the offset, and the additional duties stacked on, without a pay increase is ridiculous. The sphincter retentive management need sensitivity and need to attend their own diversity training to learn how to talk to people. The upper management make this place very toxic to work in, stay clear if you want peace of mind.

Cool environment

Working at The Embassy Beachwood has its up and down like everywhere. The main problem is the staff is short so getting time off is hard but the pros are the discounts and benefits.

I love working here and have been at the company for a long time. However I feel like there is not much opportunity for growth and the pay is just not what it should be. Ok for students or single adults

The management looks us to the bottom they expressions they have is like you don't have to be here I'm superior of you I be a manager for so many years in restaurant department and I personally Lorne so many good things strictly for trident are employed but here the is nothing of that any more

Overworked and underpaid

The pay is too low, and the benefits are not great. Management tries to walk all over you. Your list of tasks grows every week. You are often left dealing with angry guests for reasons that you had nothing to do with. For instance, housekeeping not having rooms ready at check in time or shuttle drivers leaving guests behind or they oversold and you have to tell a guest that there is no room for them even though they booked a reservation months ago. There is almost no accountability, you will often find yourself fixing other people’s mistakes. Want time off? Don’t bother asking for it because they won’t give it to you. They will do anything to make a buck, even if it compromises your own safety. The whole place is a joke.

Productive and fun place to work

When it's busy, the time goes by quickly but when it isn't, the time goes by very slowly. All full time Front Desk agents have to drive the shuttle within a 5 mile radius for all guests who request a ride, mostly corporate clients and some weddings/social groups. Overall fun place to work and I met some great people while employed there. However, it can be draining at times due to long hours of standing, lifting/handling luggage, driving the shuttle, having a schedule of early AM/late PM shifts and constantly having to be in a hospitable mood.

Beautiful hotel, caring management

Everyone has your back. Make work fun for staff. So much appreciation and support. I love it here. Provide really good benefits like vacation, health and dental and vision insurance as well as a matching 401k

Welcoming and Accommodating

Everyone is like family, we have parties and support one another. They are very great about accommodating time off and specific hours or shifts you may need. Everyone communicates well and covers shifts for others readily.

Average pay and stressful

The pay is average for the field. Coworkers were nice. Free snacks and drinks. This is a fairly stressful job dealing with guest complaints and issues. Management frequently leaves front desk agents on their own to handle issues with very little training. Schedule is all over the place. Vacation requests and days off were generally granted but hours varied greatly.

It is stressful and constantly busy

Typically you are constantly busy, often times left to check in 80+ hotel guests in an upscale hotel downtown across from entertainment center. You have so much information to remember and you have to give details about breakfast, dinner, bar and keep up with parking garage fees and valet. Management does not answer phones, often disappear in the back and are hands off unless there is a problem, and even then you better be able to handle the situation on your own. HVAC (AC/Heating) issues were constant and over half never work. There are always issues, you're constantly stressed with no set schedule and only when you try to quit do they try to make you stay. Front Desk Supervisor was awesome most days, but they expect so much and do not want to do much unless they have to. They say one thing and do another!

Embassy Suites NW I-10: A hard place to like

There is so much good at the Embassy Suites. But when ownership and management refuse to give it the TLC it deserves, Front Desk takes all the grief.

One of the best jobs I've ever had.

This place was great, The management is great and I way always listened to and respected by my superiors. The GM and AGM were always wanting feedback to try and make the place better and run smoother. I only left because of Covid, I would still be working there if that had not happened
