Being very productive

What is the best part of working at the company?Giving great customer service it is important as a long time Hilton employee to make mention to all of our in honor guest that they are in important What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Making sure getting the guest what they need and can be stressful when I guess go to the room and I do not have everything I believe in 100% customer service.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?As a team member, I would like to say we are all one big happy familyWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy busy busy is great for all of us at the front desk to be on one accord I like that

Great place to work butt can’t get a request days off to take vacation for a week for PTO

Hard to get a day off especially when you request it ahead of time even if you have PTO because they don’t have enough help only the sales department and managers get requested days off

Corporate vs. Property Management

All the current property managers are supportive and respectful towards employees. However, Hilton corporate management creates rules and priorities that make absolutely no sense. This is a 30+ years old property which has never been renovated - the carpets, furniture and structure are shabby and worn out. Guests usually expect better accommodations from a Hilton hotel, so we hear complaints about issues we cannot control.

Rewarding place to work

Working at Embassy Suites ,the environment and team work goes unmatched, day one i felt so welcomed and like a part of a family! It’s a very supportive and rewarding place to work. I was given all the tools and more to be able to successfully do my job and do it well.

No accountability

Although guests were sometimes difficult to deal with, which is sometimes par for the course. It was an "ok" job. I really liked my co-workers, but management was a totally different story! If Front Desk staff made a mistake, they could be expected to be ambushed in a "meeting", (at least in my case) however when management made a mistake everyone was expected to blow it off. One manager would complete an incorrect transaction under your profile, and a totally different manager or the night auditor would question you about it, and you would have no idea what they're talking about. If you value your peace of mind please, stay far away from Embassy Suites in Downtown St. Louis.

Could definitely pay better.

The pay is pretty terrible. Decent gig for highschoolers, but not someone who needs to make a living. If you just need to kill some free time, it's not awful.

Very rude GM

GM is a rude man on a power trip . This place takes it’s no worker relationships policy to heart . Be mindful of what you say, do & think because you will be in HR’s office immediately. Very uptight , stressful environment. Most of the front desk isn’t given proper training & are thrown to the wolves . The stress is not worth the pay , they have a very high turnover rate .

Fun place to work

It was a fun environment. Management were nice and the team also. Typical receptionist job, the hardest part was the standing for long hours other than that, great culture and management.

Decent

An overall decent place to work, however the condition of the property makes everyone’s job much harder. The hotel is in need of major upgrades, which means there are constant complaints, which leads to added stress on the employees.

Where do I start

Overall management here is a nightmare and HR department personnel by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. They don’t stick up for employees and hire friends without much experience instead of someone they interview that has all the potential and experience to succeed.

terrible pay and awful people

I was very excited to work here in the beginning and loved it for the first month or so before I started seeing peoples true colors. They push that everyone matters and everyone is family but that only applies to higher-ups and not the lower people like housekeeping, front desk, and banquets. Most of them treat you one way to your face and say awful things behind your back but some (management) will just say slurs to your face and not get in any trouble for it. They treat their disabled employees like trash. They will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat because they dont want to do their jobs. They are cheap. They say awful things about guests and tell them anything to make them go away and/or not file a complaint. They expect you to bend over backwards for them but they wont do the same for you or even pay you fairly for working as hard as you can. Youll be paid and treated the exact same as someone who comes in and does nothing. There are some really great people that work there but sadly they aren't enough to make up for how terrible management is.

Unorganized

While the pay is nice, management is terrible. Always shortage of staff. The hotel is old and in need of a face lift. The ax units in the rooms leak, there is a terrible sewer smell seeping through the vents. You will work long hours without a break and never have any help.

Hospitality is a high-stress, low-paying industry, understand that upfront

Embassy Suites in Portland, ME was a pretty good place to work. I liked my co-workers, and in general the job was pleasant enough, but it still pays very poorly for the amount of stress that it can bring. Benefits were good when I worked full-time.

Fairly easy to do, Pleasant work, Discounted hotel rooms, health benefits

缺点

Low pay, a lot of angry guests.

Motivating and fun work place to build relationships not only with guest but with coworkers too!

Managers really focus on the growth and development of their teams. They are accommodating to personal needs really support you. Your department leaders are willing to work with you and know that if you are at your best you will work your best.

Morale very low due to poor ownership and management

Very hostile work environment for Minorities. Management racists and very inexperienced. If you are looking for a place of growth and positive environment, DO NOT WORK HERE. Worst job experience in the history of my Hotel Career

Bad management

I’ve had 3 general managers since working here. They haven’t done anything about housekeeping not cleaning room’s properly or that front desk is being blamed and everything is being thrown on front desk. Lack of staff so I work in almost every department.
