Hilton is a great company with an excellent culture.

Even the pay is not 100% desirable, there's much room for personal development and career growth. Work-life balance is okay compared to other hotels. One advantage of working at Hilton is that you would develop meaningful professional relationships through the work.

Hilton, Team spirit

Hilton est une famille... offrant un avenir et un développement personnel très intéressant.Cette entreprise est la meilleur dans le monde car elle a su s'adapter au progrès et aux diverses attentes de sa clientèle en offrant différents concepts d'hôtels.L'esprit d'équipe est la base et donc devient essentiel. L'essentiel est important.Ma dernière position avec le groupe Hilton était aux Seychelles et le cadre de vie était très agréable et la difficulté était de faire 10 fois par jour les 5 kilomètres du Spa & Resort en vélo :) pour vérifier la satisfaction de notre clientèles dans les différents point de vente a leur disposition.

A bit disappointed

I need to work 10 to 14 hours a day, and I often go to work until two or three in the morning. The salary is particularly low and there are many troubles.

challenging but fun

With 498 rooms at Hilton Guangzhou Tianhe,it has been really busy every day. We checked in guests from all over the world and groups from companies also. Very challenging but fun work.

Great place to meet people from all over the world

the best part of working in such dynamic place like Hilton is definitely meeting people from all over the globe. I was working at Hilton Hefei, in China and I had costumers from all over the place. The hotel is always promoting parties and events to its employees. I remember at least a handful times of parties and celebrations during my working-time. Everyone seems to respect you, and they are always willing to help you with anything.

A great experience

In Hilton, I learn some great skills,like mixing some cocktails , but I believe I get greatest giants that are to learn how to communicate with different guests and to make some nice friends who are my colleagues. In fact , I really disIike into management, because themanager never takes our advice . On the contrary, i am quite partial to work in lobby bar, because I can sever a lot of costumers and they told me some interesting things about themselves but also I met some people who have bad attitude and I have a great team in there. Because of the issue I would to give up this job, because I felt tried very much when I work 50 hours in three days. Finally, I stick to it until I finished the term of practice.

I worked in the pre-opening period

Follow all procedures and quality standards for opening the hotel. In eight months I did 35 courses related to the daily operation of the food and beverage department.. The management standard of the Hilton is wonderful, very professional Splendid workplace and brand culture.. Three months before the hotel opening a lot of pressure on the part of the owners.. Create the business environment and work with new colleagues

Great job with great people

I have been working in hilton sanya resort almost one year as a gsm. That is a beatuiful resort, my job duty is taking care of every guest and deliver outstanding customer service skill in order to make sure they all have great time during their stay. Meanwhile I also need to supervise front desk team and help them when they are busy. I really enjoyed cheer guest up and help them when they need me.

fun place

I was employed in reservation section of Hilton Hotels. I worked as part of a team to make telephone, fax and online booking reservations. I resolved client queries by telephone and email. I helped to complete contracted work with Hilton Hotel, where I needed consider the contract and give the client appropriate advice. I also made use of basic accounting and was responsible for updating the company website.

Hilton Beijing

Interning at the Beijing Hilton Hotel not only has given me knowledge in the hotel industry, but how to interact with people. Beijing Hilton is an upscale worldwide-recognized hotel and resort. With the expertness of the employees, I was able to grasp the concept of working here. Everyday I learned something new working from 8 AM to 6 PM. During the first few weeks, I worked in the front desk, concierge and lobby. I interacted with customers/guests. I gained confidence in speaking with guests and improving my Mandarin. I was able to review front desk logbooks and daily events. The technology used mainly in front desk and lobbies are computers and fax machines. I was able to confirm any out of order or out of service room statuses with the appropriate department. I also had to print the room status discrepancy report and follow up on all room discrepancies.

Reflection on the work

I came to the office and follow the task list to start the work. First, I download and print some reports online, and then update the reports which revenue manager and other bosses need. Second, I check the reservations made yesterday. Third, I follow the revenue manager's instruction to adjust the room rate. Fourth, I check the next day reservations. Those are the typical work content in a day. I've learned a lot on the Hilton University, which is E-learning. It contains all of the information about the hotel including the computer system, working skills especially when facing a guest and the culture of the Hilton Group. After I finished one course, I can get a certificate. The management in Hilton Group is clear organized and divided into different level. This kind of management precisely distributes the work load and responsibility to different level of employees. The most related department with reservation is the sales department. Sales manager will pass the booking work to the reservation department, and when they got the urgent booking from guests, they would immediately contact us to help them manage it. Then most hardest part of the work maybe handle the complaints. In addition, the reservation is highly related with the room rate which is sensitive. The most enjoyable part of the job maybe even there must be some sensitive complaints or a lot of reservation to double check. But it made me full of sense of achievement when successfully handling them.
