Due to brand competition there was excessive tolerance of bad guest behavior.

The security department was often the backup team for at least three other departments. There was no remunerative adjustment for the extra workload that came from providing other backup. During the CoVid months, the department often experienced double workloads without involving department personnel in the reasons or rationale for certain impactful decisions. Morale dropped and company loyalty went hiding.

Free meals in cafeteria; matching 401k; regular training updates; routine autonomy

Excessive tolerance and financial offsets related to disrespectful guest behaviors.

Dont do it

This place was a hot mess. Every department. Everywhere. There was no helping this place. Upper management was not organized or ever on the same page with anyone.

High speed working environment

Management is not so supportive, and always spread and assign short shift such as 4-6 hours. Even, they will send you back home 0.5 hours earlier than your initial shift with last second inform as Duty Manager thought it's not busy anymore currently.

HRA - An important first step in my successful career today

I was an intern at HRA many years ago. As in any other business, a lot depends on a healthy environment and people. My experience is wonderful, I worked my way up to management. They helped us develop into managers and at that time cooperated on the extension of visas. Best years of my life.

Overwhelming

Br prepares to answer 60-100 phone calls a shift. Strictly monitored for time not answering phone calls. Management pretends to care about your concerns. Company would rather have a high turn over rate than keep employees. Large amounts of people have quit in my less than 1 year at the company.

Great Company Values

Hyatt is a great place to work they really value caring for others so they can be their best I really appreciate all of the flexibility that I have with my schedule I really like my management as well they are very understanding and the training is absolutely amazing. The program the program that I am a part of is very easy to move up and it is a very repetitive and easy job

LOVE this job and company

Hyatt is an amazing company to work for. The managers are spread a little thin but they care about their employees. It feels like a family here. In my experience, managers work with you if you have school or a second job. Many of my coworkers move up easily from employee to supervisor/manager. Everyone in the Hyatt family welcomes new people and moving from one hotel to another. Managers, GMs, and other Director level executives encourage coworkers to find their niche and help in any way possible to make it happen. I highly recommend working for Hyatt hotels.

Toxic Management

Management is out of control. Constant micromanagement and harassment. When you speak up about anything they dismiss it. Very toxic work environment. They purposefully cut hours to “save money” which results in constant interactions with frustrated guests. Schedule is sporadic and hours are inconsistent. Pay is “decent” but you have to pay union dues every month. They treat you like you’re disposable. Honestly good luck to anyone even considering working at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego.
