I worked at Olive Garden for over two years. I moved and actually like it enough that when I moved back home a year later I came back to work for them again. I loved the atmosphere and coworkers. Management was good but also depends on the individual obviously. I saw opportunity to grow at Olive Garden but dealing with rude customers, I’m sorry “guests”, really tests your patience. I grew a lot and learned a lot from working here though. Everyone should be a server/waiter at some point in their life. Your coworkers become like second family and the tips are amazing some days, really bad other days. You’ll make way more money working dinner shift because at lunch everyone just ordered endless salad and soup for like 7 bucks and has you running back and forth to the kitchen for refills and they leave you a $1-$2 tip because that’s a 15% tip. The training is intensive so I felt well prepared when I started taking my own tables.

Very poor pay for overworked servers

First id have to agree on management being exceptional! They are really good people, especially you co- workers, they are friendly & great people to work with, very rare to find yourself in any conflict or drama! But I will say the servers schedule is very weak! They send half the servers home after 3 hours with 2 tables! You would be lucky to go home with 30 bucks a slow day & 100 bucks a busy day, and it’s mostly slow, your better of working at a McDonald’s, they over work the servers & pay them $2.15 an hour definitely not a fair trade

Good pay but needs new management

Olive Garden was a good place to work as far as how the job is and the pay but having poor employees train new people and then have another employee retrain all the time wasn’t the best way of running the back of house staff. I loved working for Olive Garden and there was some really good staff but really couldn’t get past how the GM and other management wanted to go about things and being ok with the BOH being dirty.

As a busser I enjoyed my customers and some coworkers.

What is the best part of working at the company?Meeting new customers. Manager is to young and doesn't know how to run the store properly. Has a potty mouth in back end of house, in which I was impaled. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Manager and supervisor of servers not caring about the store, not showing respect to coworkers. Has a totally different personality once they enter front of store, from back. Didn't follow through of fixing broken down equipment. Roof was always leaking in kitchen and cleanliness didn't make coworkers do there job, clean up after themselves.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Not a good environment to work in. Manager and supervisor of server's could not discipline work ethic of workers, when they weren't doing there job. Stand around talking, on phones and smoking in building. There were no consequences when co-worker would time and time again not follow rules.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Frustrating and was unhappy working in this kind of environment.

Decent pay and hours

Co-workers make the job fun. Decent amount of hours available and flexibility with scheduling. Pay was pretty good with tips. Management can be difficult at times.

Great place to work with opportunities for advancement

Great work culture. Teamwork is awesome here, and managers aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. plenty of room for advancement with a clearly laid out tree.

It's solid

This location is always busy. The money is average but relatively consistent. Getting full-time hours isn't difficult. Lots of free food. Overall not a bad place to be as a career server.

Nice part time job

I love working at Olive garden. It's fast paced and you meet a lot of nice people. The money isn't always great but you can work until closing or pick up doubles on the weekend.

it’s alright

People think this place is fine dining when it really isn’t. 3 table sections are not ideal, making turnovers slower. Managers only care about refill scores based on ziosk surveys which leads to you being stuck in a 3 table section while some people get 4 or 5.

Loved working here, you do them good they do you good. Good coworkers, owner is awesome, when I was there the kitchen manager was questionable, but I enjoyed being there.

Great place to work, daily money was awesome. Fast paced environment, management seems to always have your back. I learned a lot very quickly and made some great friends!

Bad location

This is a bad location to be a serve at in my experience. Maybe it has improved since I left but the management was poor and inconsistent. It is possible to make money there but much more difficult than it needs to be. More work less money

Stressful Environment yet Good People

Other employees are generally very nice and willing to help, however management tends to put a lot of stress on its employees and expected standards aren't clear. Managers, mainly the GM, are always looking for things to critique, tend to act in a condescending manner, and false promises for advancement are common. It is believed here that the customer is always right and you're always wrong, management will hardly ever be on your side. Overall, I do enjoy working here, but if you can't handle stress well or constantly being critiqued as if nothing you do is ever good enough, then this place is not for you.

Worst place to work the staff are the absolutely terrible they made me feel completely uncomfortable in included and definitely under paid

Staff are incredibly rude at all times and have no respect for people who are new discusting behaviour especially towards me which was not nice to put up with being there trying to get things done

Management Is super unprofessional and selfish

Managers don't really know what they're talking about half the time. They make up rules as they go to benefit them and they treat their employees like they are less than, super unprofessional. They also do not want to pay their employees what they're worth they pick and choose who they give raises to according to how much they like you and if you kiss up to them. There were people that had been with them for 20+ years and the newer workers made more. Ridiculous

Okay if you really need money, not okay for mental sanity

Everyone is very friendly and money can be good but not worth what you go through. To Gos are expected to do 100 other jobs simultaneously with their own and are usually forgotten about even though they are responsible for a large chunk of sales. They get scolded about scores and get rewarded with more work when scores are up. Servers have the opportunity to get free meals, breaks, and other perks but To Go’s get absolutely nothing. They get upset if scores decrease but do not realize that they cannot remain high if To Go’s have so many jobs to do at once. Also expect to work way past your scheduled time unexpectedly. It’s understandable if you have to stay 30min-1hr after your shift (sometimes) because it is an unpredictable restaurant… but not 2-3+ hours past it. 6 hour shifts turn into 11 hours. They will have a person work alone when it’s usually busy, but then 6 people scheduled when its usually slow. Then get upset that the alone person can’t handle a rush by themselves. They are overworked and do not get properly paid for it. As a To Go, expect to run around like a chicken without a head. To Go’s also make all of the restaurant’s bread which is not our job whatsoever and an actual Bread Person gets paid more than a To Go Specialist. Some managers are amazing, will help if you need it, and will make you feel excited to work. Others will laugh at your concerns and ignore you. They also are inconsistent on rules and will make some To Go Specialists work harder than others (favoritism). The main reason anyone stays is because it is decent money and you can make good friends -
