Fun workplace, but management kinda sucks

The employees are great for the most part, and there is rarely any drama or issues. Some of the managers are lazy and extremely moody, which can make work such a drag. Not very good or fair pay, and don't expect to move up in the company just because you are good at your job. Overall, meh experience.

Staffing scheduling

The scheduling was pretty much a forgone conclusion.There were people that would not change schedules for anything. And the manager making the schedule catered to them and everyone else he's to be flexible.The night shifts were at best 3rd string high school students that often called in because of an activity they forget about so you were often shorthanded.

Great food, repeat customers, great opportunity for advancement.

The shift supervisors were very helpful with any issues or disputes that came up.

Overall, it was fine. Nothing to make a career out of, at least for me. It's good for when you're a college student in need of a steady income and a schedule flexible enough to allow you to study and attend classes. Upper management could be tough on you, but that's pretty much true for any job. Workplace culture was friendly enough, and you didn't feel dread when you walked through the door. So, that was a plus. Hardest part of the job must've been dealing with the mealtime rushes for Lunch and Dinner, while the most enjoyable part of the job were those few pleasant moments throughout your shift when there was a lull in the workload you and your coworkers took a moment to have a laugh or talk about what's going on in their section of the restaurant. At the end of the day, I learned that the food service industry, while not the career for me, has many inter-connected parts (kind of like a clock), and it requires a cohesive and informed group effort to make things work.

优点

Employee discount for meals, and dibs on any leftover pastries and unclaimed meals at the end of the night.

缺点

Coming into work when the mealtime rush came early, when the dirty dishes piled high between shifts.

bad bad management, the only good thing is you get to have manager meals SOMETIMES

Too much pressure and such poor management. There was multiple times where I had to cover multiple shifts for people and many coworkers dont show up leaving me under stress. the place i wokred at did not know what teamwork is at all.

Really poor

Very poorly run from the top down. I do not recommend working for panera in any capacity for any amount of time. Very interested to see where where this company ends up in a decade is all I'll say.

Fun place to work and very productive place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?You are treated like a human being! Everyone is friendly and caring and most importantly your well-being is cared for! What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Customer's who are in a hurry and do not have patience waiting in line while you are taking an order ahead of them.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Diversity and no tolerance for rude or discrimination!!What is a typical day like for you at the company?Depends on the day if it's raining,snowing or really hot outside it's laid back. Everything else it's a go go go type of day breakfast and lunch!

Great employees, horrible corporate

I loved the employees at my local store and I had a wonderful time working with them. Corporate on the other hand has very unrealistic expectations for workers and simply does not pay well enough to be worth considering.

Good until Manna takeover last year

Good place to work and get hours generally, but they sold to a new franchise a year or so ago and things have gone downhill since....Vacation, bonuses, some positions all cut, incentives gone, many long time managers leaving. It was a good job that paid well, but stressful and it just became where it wasn't fun anymore...I stayed so long because of wonderful coworkers and customers though, they make a lovely environment and make the difference. I miss all my coworkers for sure, they were great.

Not enough pay for the stress

I worked at several paneras, each one worse than the previous. Pay caps out incredibly low, difficult to move up in the company. Overall did not enjoy my time working for the company. Some managers will work well with college schedules but that’s on a case by case scenario.

This place in most cafes is horrible to work for!

The only benefit of the 50% off food but that is only when you’re working. Working conditions are horrible at a good amount of locations, Management is bad, corporate doesn’t care, foods not as good in most locations as it used to be. Pay rate is horrible, barely if any raises, even the raises are slim. Promotions only go to who they want to them to go to, doesn’t matter if your a good worker or not.

stressful, everyday is an emergency

Never felt like I had the recourses to truly give true "warmth". Only during lunch was there actually enough people to allow people to actually focus on their job without having to constantly leave it to do other things, so about 2 hours a day. There was always something that was broken or not working always forcing work arounds causing unneeded stress on employees.

Over worked and under paid.

What is the best part of working at the company?The people I work with and some of the regular customers.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Coming in to work at night and find that the day shift have not done their job.What is a typical day like for you at the company?working none stop from the moment you punch in to the moment you punch out.Doing double work because day shift and day managers don't do their jobs.

Although I do love the free stuff it doesn’t pay enough for the experience they also lied about the pay they were supposed to start you off on I was supposed to get 14.50 but I’m on 14.20

It was good working here, management is very welcoming and very understanding. You won’t complain about the hours, the hours are great. You will love the environment of working there as well.

Hard work, little reward

Panera provided me with many years of experience, and many opportunities for advancement. But it’s hard work for little pay. I only worked for franchises and not corporate though, which I’ve heard can be better. If you need something for a short time, then sure, but I wouldn’t look here for a career.

Fun at times.

Our AOP was a great people person. Former GM was amazing. Workplace culture was great depending on the shift. The hardest part was being understaffed.

Fast paced

It’s was okay working here but management was awful they didn’t care about what I had to say ever I had let them know what was going on multiple times. It gets really stressful because they don’t give you enough people or time to open or close so you’re always running behind and stuck there late.

Overworked

We were constantly understaffed and overworked. I began working there as a minor, and turned eighteen during my employment, and as soon as they learned, I was scheduled for more hours during school time, despite my telling them I was still in high school.
