Generally a challenging/productive work environment. The people you work around are mostly cool. Work environment encourages some ppl to be cutthroat to get ahead. If you're single and looking to grind, you can succeed rather quickly, if you are family oriented they make it tough to juggle work and family. Wages are in general lower than industry standards, but they try to compensate with stock/future values.

You can go and make good money just no family life

I work here because like most I was a fan of the company and what its trying to accomplish, it is really amazing to directly see the results of your work. Its easy to get overwhelmed when you first start, sort of star struck if you will. So your willing to do everything they ask of you and then some to help accomplish the mission and do something great. After that wears off however you realize that the company doesn't stop asking more and more from you, everything you have to give in fact. Yes they do pay you well provided you put in the time and show your commitment but at a certain point you have to ask yourself if its worth it, especially if you have a family. Because you won't get to see much of them, a 10 hour work day is the minimum and you will regularly be asked to do 12 hour days and weekends for months at a time. If you are single and don't have many life commitments I definitely recommend this job for you.

Fast paced, questionable management depending on what team your on

Quality of life is strongly dependent on what program and team you are on. Starship tends to be high stressed and fast pace, and your value as an employee is solely on your productive output.

Chaotic

Chaotic and overworked. Work life balance is not a thing and its not a place I would recommend to anyone. It is great for your resume, but not great if you want to have a life outside

Great place to work, great coworkers I learned a lot. Military friendly. Cons 10 hrs work day minimum and some weekends pros. Good pay and experience

Good workplace good pay

Well taken care of paid above market for the area and treated like a human which I’ve found isn’t often in the trades. Long hours 10-12 6-7 days a week

Awesome enviroment, wrong department

SpaceX was an awesome enviroment to be surrounded by engineers and working on rockets! It inspired me to go to school and be an engineer, unfortunately I had to quit in 7 months as the work load was getting too much for me. 10 hours a day 5-6 days a week was doable, but with the departments culture it made working there terrible. Coworkers would sometimes go entire days without talking and the managers were difficult to approach and have a relationship with. I needed more sick time due to being indoors all day made me catch colds, but the policy was too harsh as it would start biting into my vacation hours if I ran out of sick days. I heard the other departments still overwork you but have a much friendlier or laid back culture!

This is a No-Life job

If plan on working 8-10hrs shifts and go on bout your day than keep it pushing these people demand 12hrs shifts when they snap their fingers om top of stress and no support from hire aboves . co workers are there to rat you out to get bonuses and raises are like 70cents a year .If you want to succeed be a YES man person cuz they walk all over u tons of people sleeping in their car to make it to work early and on time just goes to show you smooth brain people working here are oblivious. Engineers are all interns lost in the abyss you solve your own problems all they do is take your credit for theirs and act like they did something

Best experience ever, if my commute was not long I would have remain there.

Exciting but demanding work environment!

Great benefits but pay is lower than industry average. Long of hours and overtime help balance pay difference but work/home life balance suffers. Will be on the forefront and witness launches and breakthroughs in the space industry which is exciting and inspiring!

Rockets are hard work.

It's the hardest, most challenging and most rewarding position I have ever held. From the bottom up you will be asked to give maximum effort, if you're not willing to do that, look elsewhere.

Such a cool place to work, for someone who isn't afraid to sweat or get dirty.

I loved working here. It was definitely a lot of work, high pressure, and quick pace. It helps if you're passionate about the mission, and that you are fueled by the "cool-factor" of getting to work on space ships. I learned a lot at my time here, and have been able to utilize this experience to get prestigious job interviews after. Management is below average. My manager never checked in on me, unless he needed something from me. The team of people I worked with, however, was awesome. While many of my colleagues aren't there anymore, they are still friends of mine.

Interesting place to work but can be hard to get promotions. Get a degree first you will get much farther much faster. Fun to see rockets go off when there are launches.

Stressful, draining, and non productive

What is the best part of working at the company?It’s like working in a brand new establishment daily. Management lacks the necessary experience to operate the food outlets efficiently and effectively. The policies for the company as a whole do not work for food service, so it’s always under staffed and people being pulled in so many different direction DAILY! I don’t recommend working here if you have morals and value your experience in the food industry, this will disappoint you because you will be working backward. Making food is not ROCKET science, but that’s the expectation. There are certain systems that work rather you are in fast food or fine dining. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Not having the staff to get the job done. Pulling staff from another department which makes the lead have to train and overly supervise. Use to be fun

50+ hour work week standard. A lot of very avoidable overtime and weekend work. Cape Canaveral is the definition 10% of the people do 90% of the work. They launch more than anyone else and pay worse than everyone else. Management promotes their friends and not the people who work the hardest or are best for the position. Watched more and more benefits and employee incentives get stripped away about every 6 months, which aligns with when the new crop of employees comes in after everyone quits. Go elsewhere, the place is a mess and the way they are trending, it’s a matter of time before more fireworks happen.
