Not worth the risk for minimum wage

Minimum wage employees as young as 17 often have to deal with hostile or intoxicated customers. Employees are told to stay within earshot but otherwise don't interact. LP is not always available.

Not a team effort

I work between 40-56 hours a week and push so much freight that when the other people in my team would not or do less when they see me do what their job was suppose to be. I always have an 100% work effort but there’s always someone who will complain to the manger of something the manger in my team did but the manager would say I did it because I am the newer employee. Even though I know u didn’t do anything they’d would agree with the manger who said he didn’t. I’m an hard working individual, I was training to be an assistant manger but they chose someone with little experience on how to run a backroom and who was just hired because quote one quote they were talkative and I wasn’t ?? Great place to work if you plan on staying for few month, mostly all tj maxx have like 40 cashiers and 3 people doing freight. I was assigned to do freight I was 6 months in and didn’t know for me to learn something new I had to go complain about my job role they gave me. Which I didn’t comparing about it just why didn’t they teach me sooner but they’re reasoning was I never complained about my task or even talked to them. So somehow my fault for not wanting to learn more. They’d cut my hours and complaing about how No one wants to down stack palletes when a truck was coming that day

It was a toxic work environment

What is the best part of working at the company?They have a low employee discount. You are constantly called to the register to ring to the point of not being able to complete other position duties. Then you are reprimanded for not completing them. The schedule is not what you sign on for and without notice. Constantly being called off allotted breaks to ring register. Supervisors play favorites and no accountability for their unprofessional behavior towards employees What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Working late at night with no helpWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Mentally and verbally abusive What is a typical day like for you at the company?I was the financial office coordinator...I counted the money in the safe in the morning and placed the money in the registers during the day and collected the money out of them at night..I had to record overages/ shortages in a binder and search for mistakes and then have the employee sign it..then ring registers until the end of my shift..constantly pressured to open charges in front of customers

Fun place to work, but not worth it as a coordinator.

I wouldn't recommend working here as a customer service coordinator. They really push the store credit cards on you & it's stressful. I would come back as a store associate or higher upper management.

long hours like any retail store. Good with taking Request time off but has to be a valid reason. Management is so so there’s new supervisors so not sure how that is now. but still good retail is just crazy in general. There’s nice co workers most that have been there a really long time.

ok at first

It was my first job and was ok at first but the longer you stay the worse it gets. Customers don't treat the store with any amount of respect. Super high turnover. Always busy and hard to recover and keep a clean store. They are super flexible with scheduling but foe minimum wage and only 10 percent discount it isn't worth it.

Just a terrible social club for children

No managerial support, lack of supervision when clearly needed, hardcore favoritism, very low pay with minuscule pay raises, and just on overall dead end job. I’ve been physically threatened by another associate and then had managers threaten to fire me because I was “involved”. Should’ve quit then, but I was desperate, which is just about the only excuse to work here, and not a good one at that. I’ve worked 12 hour shifts that sail by compared to most 4 hour shifts here. Very minimal hours, even when asking for more. Most shifts are just finding your department for the shift and going to it until you get called to the register. The rest of the shift will be spent either trying desperately to find anything productive to do while managers get frustrated when you ask for new tasks; or you’ll be running around like a chicken with its head cut off, depending on how busy the store is. New hires and other unprepared employees are promoted for unknown reasons over long time employees, who have little to no representation. If you’ve worked here for 5 years and accumulated maybe $3 extra an hour in raises, just pray that minimum wage doesn’t go up again, because you’re pay won’t and you’ll be making just as much as a Week 2 associate. There’s so much more to say, but the message is clear: Unless you haven’t grown up and still love participating in needless drama and social hierarchies, STAY AWAY. For your own sake.

Exhausting and toxic work environment

I would probably enjoy the job if it wasn't for the management. A lot of the managers will pick on employees and verbally harass them, and if you go to a different manager about it you will be ignored. And if you forget to ask ONE customer about the tjx credit card you will be pulled aside and chewed out. The only way to be treated well by the managers and to be considered a good employee is to apply a lot of people for the credit card. I don't recommend working here, it's not worth the stress.

No bueno didn’t like it one bit over worked and the pay was horrible . Wouldn’t recommend . A lot of hours and no money .. and they push for reward cards
