I was supposed to start as a full time employee but didn't. I was a contract employee and after long, I felt as if I no longer belonged at that company. They are good people. My supervisor was cool and if I was getting paid from the company, like a regular employee, I would have stayed with them for the long haul (because I was tired of hopping from company to company and wanted to build a lucrative career). However, it was costing me more money to show up to work and go to appointments then I was able to make. I was promised a stipend that I never received and I received no assistance from the office manager in that arena. So I had to leave, although I really liked the people and the potential I had seen when I interviewed for the full-time position (which are very important to me). If you already have years of business and come with a flowing pipeline than contract may be the way to go, yet I had only been in the life insurance game for somewhere shy of two years or so, so I hadn't built that yet. I suggest if you're starting out or building in the industry than don't accept unless you have a full-time position or else you'll waste your time.

Soul sucking employer with very little direction

The company reorganizes once or twice per year. They value seniority over knowledge and depth of understanding. They celebrate unrealized successes and pat themselves on the back when it isn't deserved. They company seems to be OK with disappointing clients, partners and shareholders alike.

Transamerica does not treat its partnering agents well.

2 times now, 2 different times this company has genuinely been screwing and hurts me on my pay, when it comes to money and when it's your full time job, to rely on these comissions from all these companies, when they do not pay you properly, IT REALLY HURTS especially when you are a newer struggling agent and ESPECIALLY my client who depends on this policy to be issued and drafted so it protects there family. They do not at any point of time properly communicate, that if my client uses express pay that if it is not drafted on a certain time IT WILL TAKE A WHOLE OTHER MONTH! FOR INCOME I DEPEND ON! AND MY CLIENT WHO IS NOT CURRENTLY INSURED AND HAS TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH.

Run

Not a bad company but please be mindful of a toxic environment! I was always feeling a bad feeling from this organization! Work place culture was not very healthy and it definitely contributed to my mental health aspect.

Local office unorganized

Local office lacked order however they did provide training and call sessions weekly. Lots of driving with clients not even letting you in the door. Wasn't a good experience at all. Even some managers would complain about the company to employees which wasn't really a good representation.

Still In training

In training and wondering if this is going to work out or if I am going to run in circles and end up looking for something else. So far there has been a lot of support but it is somewhat confusing

Terrible job management is very dishonest

Run as fast as you can from this company. Very poorly run company, they will tell you what you want to hear then once you spend a ton of time on orientation, everything suddenly changes. Trust me as a driver that's 25 years in definitely keep looking.

Opportunity available for a few

Industry leading, brand recognition, extremely competitive products, however; outside of one particular low level (but absolutely fantastic) supervisor, management is severely lacking in chutzpah and if that one fantastic manager is not yours you will be forced to sell to your friends and family or to whomever YOU can generate as a lead.

there is no work/life balance at Transamerica.

they are underpaid and have no room for career growth. Work more than 60hr per week and does not get fair pay. Asking for more responsible and the manager turn down.

Excellent organization

Closed down operations in Philadelphia but this was a great place to work with great benefits and management team. Would highly recommend as a career choice.

Company is just ok. Not great not bad

Typical office work. processing work from the queue daily. Working in teams. It makes a difference if you have good team members that work together, makes the job easier.

Excellent working conditions

Great employer, excellent pay traveled over the time of my employment handling all sorts of claims. At the time that I left them they pulled out of Texas writing insurance.

Mostly good

Very relaxed call center environment. I've been doing it for so long and this was the easiest job ever. A lot to know and understand if you're new to anything related, but a lot of my coworkers did well despite the SMH moments I had when reviewing their experiences. Company started going woke. After almost 4 years I got a new supervisor who cared more about broadcasting her rainbow connection preferences than actually taking care of her team.Much went into my departure, but it was the easiest and best job I've ever had of its kind. It was almost too easy to meet bonus metrics which could earn you more than $5K extra per year.

Horrible company pyscho customers

Back to back calls, increasingly ridiculous metrics, nothing works. Customers are disgustingly rude and angry and what they say goes no matter how wrong or ridiculous, website and salesforce are a total nightmare, managers dont care, no ability to move up, no ability to take time off god forbid. Typical call center with zero no accountability about how horrible the call center has been since covid. Holding on to old data to force overtime, they do absolutely nothing to ease calls or system issues. Taking away pto and forcing ppl to use it all

Stressful

There were non-stop incoming calls where you could not get a break to think or relax in between calls. My last leg of training was rushed because they needed us to get on phones asap.

Great place to work.. Working from a book of business and got environment to work in.Management is great!! You don’t have to buy leads. Good training and you learn a lot.

It was okay

The training was good. But the customer are rude and the company is okay. It’s too much work for to little pay and mandatory overtime. Overall I learned a lot at Transamerica.

I would not work customer service for any company again especially Transamerica. Alot of rude customers and agents. And the pay is not good. The training was good though I learned a lot while working there.

Great Insurance products

Insurance offerings are great covering all types needed for clients. A leader with e applications. Great pay when business is written. You are your own boss. Travel can be far 1.5 hours for regional meetings but thats fair.

Extremely stressful

The job was very stressful. First there are job contingent exams that you must pass in one try in order to keep the job. The benefits and pay are not good. There are also constant threats of warnings and corrective action if you don’t meet stats/goals. I’m not sure about other departments. But I would not recommend being a phone rep at this company. It could be better now… but this was by far one the worst companies I ever worked for.
